Ronaldo Nazário joined Corinthians in 2009, returning to his native Brazil. Despite previous severe knee injuries, the Brazilian striker managed to impress once again, becoming an important player and a beloved club legend.

At Corinthians, Ronaldo quickly showed that his goal-scoring instinct was still intact. He played a crucial role in winning the Campeonato Paulista and the Copa do Brasil in 2009. In the Campeonato Paulista final, he also scored two goals in the first leg against Santos.
