About Mats Hummels

Mats Hummels made a permanent move to Borussia Dortmund in 2008, where he grew into one of the most respected defenders in the club's history. Over several periods, he played more than 500 official matches for Dortmund and became an important leader in defense. With his strong positional play, excellent passing, and impressive heading ability, Hummels was a crucial player in Jürgen Klopp's successful Dortmund team. He won two Bundesliga titles and the DFB-Pokal with the club, and played an important role in the historic 2013 Champions League final. Hummels was also a regular in the German national team for years. He became a world champion in 2014 and scored the decisive goal in the quarter-final against France during that tournament.
