About Gianluca Vialli

Gianluca Vialli became one of the best Italian strikers of his generation and an absolute club legend for Sampdoria. He began his professional career at Cremonese and moved to Sampdoria in 1984, where, alongside Roberto Mancini, he formed one of the most iconic attacking duos in Italian football history.

At Sampdoria, Vialli experienced the most successful period in the club's history. He won, among other things, the Serie A in the 1990/91 season, three Coppa Italia titles, the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1990, and the Italian Supercup. In 1992, Sampdoria reached the Champions League final, where the club lost to FC Barcelona after extra time.

Vialli moved to Juventus in 1992, where he continued his impressive career. With the top Italian club, he won, among other things, the Champions League in 1996, the UEFA Cup, and the Serie A. This places him among the select group of players who managed to win the three major European club competitions.

Vialli was also an important international for Italy for many years. He represented his country in several major tournaments and was part of the Italian squad during the 1990 World Cup, where Italy finished third.
