About Frenkie de Jong

Frenkie de Jong came through the youth academy of Willem II and made his international breakthrough at Ajax, where his technique and insight contributed to a strong Champions League campaign. In 2019, he made a then-record transfer to FC Barcelona, where he has now played for seven seasons and won multiple La Liga and Copa del Rey titles. Under Hansi Flick, he became an indispensable part of the midfield and regularly wore the captain's armband. For the Dutch national team, he played all four group stage matches at the 2026 World Cup, with an impressive passing percentage of over 94%. Known for his ball retention, control, and game intelligence, De Jong is considered one of the most stylish midfielders of his generation.
